RECEPTION FACILITIES
The reception facilities are located at the Department of Pediatrics at Oulu University hospital (building part LA/LB), floor R. Closest entrance is LB. If you arrive with strollers or with small children the use of entrance LA is recommended. Follow the quide “AULA LR3 DIABETESTUTKIMUS”.
It’s not needed to sign in after arriving in the clinic; a study nurse will pick you up from the waiting room. A study visit is free of charge.
ARRIVAL IN THE CLINIC
When coming to a policlinic with your child, bring:
- Child health clinic card
- Nutritional research forms (mailed to some DIPP participants in advance)
- TEDDY-book, if the child is a TEDDY study subject
- DIPP-booklet, if the child is a DIPP study subject
If the booked appointment is not suitable for you or your child catches a feverish infection (or for example diarrhea or chickenpox) before policlinic visit, be kind and contact the study nurse. Chickenpox is an easily catching disease and it may be dangerous for other children in the department.
The study nurse is most likely available from Mon – Thu 08.00 – 15.00 and Fri 8.00 – 13.00 at phone number +358 50 408 7109.
When taking blood samples, we use numbing cream. It reduces the pain caused by sampling.

PARKING
There are limited parking spaces available in the hospital area. Paid parking spaces are available behind Dentopolis. Due to the construction work of the new hospital, please reserve adequate time for parking.
CAFETERIA
Cafeteria/restaurant Lokki (weekdays Mon to Fri 9 – 14.45) is located next to the study facilities.
